A question came today asking whether a "tacky factor" was implied for those wanting to bring beer to the festivities.

But first a scenario:

Person A: "Oh my, what's that?"
Person B: "Oh, it's called Vampire Blood.  What do you have?"
Person A: "Milwaukee's Best."

My only statement:  Beer's not spooky.  Nor Halloween-esque.  Nor festive and fun (unless it's St. Patty's day).

But to answer the question: No, it wouldn't be tacky to bring beer to the event.  But that being said, as the hosts, we're looking at providing a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.  By not providing a beverage of your liking, we're not doing our job.  So don't be shy.  Air your poison and we'll work something out.

A little bird says someone is a fan of whiskey.  We're working on a cocktail for you.  We'll let you know what we come up with and you can Yay or Nay it.  How's that for service?  That's what she said.

So hold off on the B-Double-E-Double-R-U-N until the tribunal has rebuttal'd.  Danke.
